GENTLE YOGA,

MEDITATION & PRANAYAMA

The Sanskrit phrase “yoga chitta vritti nirodha” (Patanjali´s Yoga Sutra 1.2) is commonly translated as “yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind.”  .


Our mind can be a fickle thing, and it is easy to be distracted by our thoughts. When we catch ourselves caught in a distraction, we can simply pause, acknowledge the distraction, and return our focus back to the breath. As we repeat this process over and over again, we begin to train our attention. With practice, it becomes easier each time we try to return to the present moment.

This yoga class (held in English) will focus on breathing, relaxation and the stilling of the mind. Starting with a seated meditation and pranayama, followed by a gentle dynamic flow - ending with the lovely stillness of Yin yoga and deep relaxation.
